Pumpkin Prayer Printables

Over the years, the Pumpkin Prayer has been one of our most popular Fall printables.  This year I was so excited to update this resource to include all new graphics in color and black and white.

pumpkinprayerprintableFor those of you now familiar with the Pumpkin Prayer, it is a simple visual prayer you can use with your children during October.  Many families will be carving pumpkins around Halloween and this is a special way you can connect each step of the pumpkin carving to an important heartfelt prayer for your children.   If you are involved in your children’s ministry this makes a great take home booklet to remind children to let their lights shine before men.  This free set is available in color or black and white and you can print it here on our sister site ChristianPreschoolPrintables.com

(HINT: Use alongside this adorable book)

Bible Verse Bookmarks for Kids

I’m on a bookmark kick lately…..have you noticed?

Today I made a set of 10 different Bible Verse Bookmarks for Kids.

Print Bible Verse Bookmarks Here

There are ten key scriptures for children to memorize with themes both boys and girls will love.

Bookmarks are a great way to encourage children to read, and they make simple take home items for children’s church or VBS programs.

I recommend printing them on cardstock and laminating for durability.

You could even punch a hole and add some ribbon if you’re feeling crafty, but these truly are ready to go!

You could even keep a pile of these on hand for rewarding students for good work!

Easter Bible Verse Printables

One of our most popular Easter resources is our Easter Egg Bible Verse Cards for Kids.

There are 10 different cards each with their own memory picture and key scripture.  The cards are stored in a pocket that includes a checklist for children.

Recently, I received an email from one of our readers.  She had been sending these scripture eggs in care packages overseas as part of an outreach program.  She was printing the eggs and replacing the verses with scripture in each countries native language by gluing little squares over the top.  It was proving time consuming and she was in need of a blank version.

So I got to work and instead of a blank version, I made an editable version.  Well, okay I made both.

I just know that there are others of you out there who are looking for small, light weight encouragement items to send to your sponsored children, or to your missionaries and church plants and now you can customize a set in your language of choice.

Additionally, if you make a set do send the files back to share with others!

St. Patrick’s Day Bible Coloring

Instead of focusing on greedy leprechauns, St. Patrick’s Day is a great opportunity to teach children about the Trinity.  St. Patrick himself used the three leaves of a shamrock to explain the concept of Trinity by explaining that there was God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, all part of the same God.

Today I’ve made a simple coloring page or craft you can use with your students.  This is a printable shamrock with the three parts of the trinity written on the front.  There is a small song sung to the tune of Frere Jacques that children can cut out and glue on the back.  You can turn this into a classroom art project by printing on cardstock, cutting out the shamrocks and providing children with green and gold glitter to decorate their shamrocks.

St. Patrick’s Day Bible Lesson Verse

We’ve had such a great response to our Bible Verse Printable Theme Packs, that I decided we should add a set for St. Patrick’s Day!

We currently have a ton of Trinity resources for St. Patrick’s Day, so I thought I’d switch things up a bit and make this set with the Beatitudes.

    Coins1CoinPocket Coins2

So there are eight different bible verses, each from Matthew 5, and each representing a character trait that God holds valuable and blessed.   I printed them on shamrock coins, representing a focus on treasure in heaven and not earthly treasures.

There is a printable pocket with a verse checklist on the back, these would be great to learn during the month of March!

Bible Verse Printables

We have a great selection of Bible Verse Printables

on Christian Preschool Printables!

In fact, I recently revamped that area of our website, making it easier for you to find just the right verse for your children.

All of our verses are chronologically ordered and presented so you can see the exact scripture card.

We have over 20 sets of printables for these verses.  Each set includes:

Bible Verse Visuals (Large verse for classroom)
Bible Verse Cards (Small verse for children)
Bible Verse Copywork/Tracing Pages (We recommend using these sleeves)
Bible Verse Games (Usually a file folder game)
Bible Verse Vocabulary (A word from the verse defined)
Bible Craft or Coloring Page (Something simple for Preschoolers)
Character of God in Focus (A specific attribute of God that corresponds with the verse)

These sets are perfect for homeschool or children’s ministry.

They make a fantastic add on to your current curriculum, and it’s never to early to start memorizing God’s word.

TIP:  Build on the Verses by presenting them during circle time.  Encourage children to say them with you as you point to the words!  My two and threes picked up the verses very quickly, and soon they would only need to see the image to recite the verse.  I mounted the large visual verses to construction paper and laminated for durability.  You might even hang them in your classroom when not in use, just having them up will remind the children.

Scripture Art: Trees

This week we finished up our third scripture art project!

I thought I would take a second to share a bit behind the scenes.
These projects usually take two 30minute lessons.
The first day for the artwork, and the second day for the scripture.

Even though I’m kinda flying by the seat of my pants,
I try to spend each of the days with small amounts of discussion and instruction.

Day 1: Instruction in technique
Day 2: Discussion of the verse

And since I didn’t really share this with the first two projects I posted,
I am backtracking a bit so you know what the actual deal is:
(This is classic me type of organization)

Soaring Eagles Project
Verse: “Because you are my help,
I sing in the shadow of your wings.” Psalm 63:7
Day 1: Blending, Hue
Day 2: God is my protection

Seasonal Trees Art Project
Verse: “There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1
Day 1: Repetition of same basic object (same tree branches in four spaces)
Day 2: God created an ever-changing world.

Tall Trees (today’s project)
Verse: All the trees of the field will know that I the LORD
bring down the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall…” Ezekiel 17:24
Day 1: Resist, Texture (Dry brush painting), Background painting
Day 2: God decides everthing! He can bring down the mighty and lift up the meek.

There, now we’re all caught up!

So here’s how we did our latest scripture art project:

First I taped down three strips of masking tape across the paper.
These are for the trees. (resist)

Then I got out the watercolors a flat paintbrush, and puff balls!
(btw-We always watercolor on cardstock or watercolor paper….not looking for a pulpy mess)

I encouraged them to find a line where the land meets the sky.

The puff balls are nice and watery, making for fun blotchy backgrounds.

We set these aside to dry, and then lifted off the tape.

Now to paint the tree bark, we turn the paper sideways,

Use a dry brush (so we can see the strokes) and start making our way up
and down the trees.

Then of course we add in our scripture!

All the trees of the field will know that I the LORD
bring down the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall…” Ezekiel 17:24

(Don’t look too close or you might notice a spelling mistake I didn’t see until post photo-shoot)

Sissy cut her’s to the shape of a tree which looked pretty neat too!

More beautiful Scripture Art for our gallery!

Scripture Art: Seasons

Since our last “Scripture Art” project was such a huge success,
I decided that we would try another~

We continued to work with watercolor
(This is the set that we are using)

And we kept the lesson really really simple,
with LOTS of table talk a little bit of technical instruction.

We folded our papers in half both ways,
and painted the outline of the same tree in each section.

This was quite difficult, and we soon decided that
our trees changed with the seasons as well :)

Then of course we painted each tree according to the season,
Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall.

Soooo Pretty!

Next, we added our bible verse from
Ecclesiastes 3:1

“There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven.”

It’s such a great passage,
I almost wish they were older to copy the entire chapter.

Actually I’ve marked this book as my next to study,
I love when teaching inspires me to be taught.
Don’t you?

We’ve added our scripture art to our gallery,
and I’m loving all the bright cheery colors in my kitchen!

And when I get the little ones to sleep,
it’s my turn to experiment with our watercolors.

What fun!

Love Bible Verses for Children

Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to share God’s love with children!
We’ve got some fantastic Preschool resources for you to use this year,
and now we’ve got a few activities for you your older kiddos as well.

Today I wanted to highlight how to use one of our new Valentine’s Day resources:

This little printable craft would be a great way for children to learn some
bible verses on love.

For each child you’ll need to print up the envelope
(on cardstock for best results)

The outside of the envelope reads,
“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 119:11

This is a very important verse, as children grow they must learn
that what is hidden in their heart is what comes out during times of trial.
( i.e. LIFE )

Once assembled you’ll see that the back of the envelope
contains eight different scriptures for children to memorize
as well as a little space to check off each verse.

These verses coorespond with a set of printable bible hearts, (page 1 page 2)

These are black and white verses, so you can print them onto colored paper
(yea for saving ink!)

Now, of course you can use these HOWEVER you like
Maybe handing out a full set to your students to take home,
Printing on cardstock and attaching to a lollipop, or even
Just using them to add to Valentine’s day cards and crafts.
(we’ve even got a few more printables to help with that)

But I would suggest that you actively use them
to help children commit these verses to memory.

Then as a child successfully recites each verse,
you give them the corresponding heart to put into their pocket.

(Thus, the verses in the pocket represent the verses they have hidden in their heart)

Maybe you do one or two each year…maybe the entire set…
Maybe you just keep this as a special teaching tool you pull out every Valentine’s Day.

Whatever you do with them don’t use them as a
“Hey! Look another thing I started but never finished” tool.

You know that guilt inducing tool we homeschool mom’s are so familiar with

Just have fun with it!
And if it overwhelms you Pin it and we’ll know that you’re “virtually doing it”

(Speaking of….did you see my new Garden board on Pinterest? *grins)

Psssst….If you enjoy this set, be sure you check out our other Free Bible Verse Theme Packs:
