I cut out left over fleece I had, and used some embroidery thread.
Then I stitched it all together
And sat back and admired my work
Now, Someone tell me how to wash this thing!
And while I’ve got you experts on the line…..
What is the best fabric to use?
How can I use just regular old cotton fabric without it Fraying?
What about just regular old craft felt?
I have so many questions……….and so little time!
OK seriously… JEALOUS! WAY CUTE!
Now that is so stinkin’ cute!!!
Oh. So. Cute! I love how you inspire me. Thank you and I am praying for a safe labor and delivery for you and babe. :-) Comin’ up soon, isn’t it?
This is so cute! My family is from the frog capital of the world (Calaveras County, CA) and my mom always says “Home is where the frogs are.”
So there are a couple of ways to keep it from fraying:
1. Iron a fusible interfacing to the back, that will also make it a little stiffer.
2. Turn under a 1/4″ seam allowance then sew it down.
3. Iron on Steam a Seam or another similar substance and then iron it to the project.
Fleece will not fray, obviously, it might shrink, so try it out first washing it and then line drying it if you’re nervous. I go for the silly lazy method and just wash and dry it and then regret the results later……
Best fabric to use is whatever you feel comfortable with that will work with your project.
Craft felt might shrink. To test it out wash it or soak it in really hot water then dry it in the dryer. If it does shrink then you’ve gotten that out of the way beforehand.
Technically you should use wool felt (but let’s face it who wants to buy somethign that expensive), so I”ve used the cheap 4 sheets for a dollarfelt for all of my projects
