Monday is December 1st, and if you’re looking for Advent printables I’ve got a new resource for you.  This game is especially helpful for those of you that teach Sunday school or have club Christmas parties coming up.

Names of Jesus Advent Game

Game Includes: 24 cards, each with a Name of Jesus, a Bible Verse, and a Question

Game Play:  Pass out the cards to students. Ask, “Who has Alpha and Omega?”  Instruct that child to read their verse, then ask “Who has….” and fill in the blank with the name on their card.  The game is played in this manner until the final child has the name Jesus.

Tips:
  • Print the cards on the backside of colored scrapbook paper.  Use a small bit of glue to tack on a Hershey kiss or a small treat.
  • After hearing each verse, ask children to think about what each name means.  i.e. What does it mean to be a shepherd.  Keep a running list of qualities of Jesus up on the board as you go.
  • You could pair this with the printable ornaments below, passing them out and having children color and decorate their ornament.
  • Alternatively, you can punch a hole in the top of the card and string a ribbon through for children to hand on a miniature classroom tree.

This is a set of 25 different ornaments available in color or black and white, each with a different name of Jesus written on them. Children can attach pipe cleaners or small bits of ribbon through the top to hang these on a classroom tree.  These would work wonderfully with the above game if you wanted to expand it.
Alternatively, there is an amazing Names of Jesus Unit Study found here.
