Making Friends…

November 2, 2010 By Valerie Mcclintick 3 Comments

I know, I’ve been gone awhile….

Did you miss me?

Actually, I’ve been off making some NEW friends

(Don’t be jealous)

If fact, I’d like to introduce you to some of my newest playmates:

This is little Timmy

He is the adorable boy that caught my attention at the bookstore:

Timmy is a very sweet boy, and he offered to share his toys with me:

Then he showed me his Brand New playgroup shoes:

And this is Simon, he is still learning how to share:

I think we are all going to be great friends!

We can play together on the Playground

Explore the woods together:

And spend the rest of our time being silly and goofing off.

We’ll be spending quite a bit of time together over the next month,
so I might not have as much time to spend here with you,

but don’t worry we can all play together soon!

;)

New Projects…No Time

August 26, 2009 By Valerie Mcclintick Leave a Comment

I have so much to show you!

But so little time.

These photos will have to do, maybe I’ll find time to explain them all, and link them up.

Soon. Promise :)

If there is something you just have to have the link for ASAP let me know….

I’ll dig quicker!

Un-bias Tape

May 2, 2009 By Valerie Mcclintick 6 Comments

I cannot stand this stuff……

Why can’t I ever get it to work right?

Is it just me, or is this the most difficult stuff to work with?

Maybe I just grabbed the “Wrong” package at the store?

Or perhaps it’s the patterns that I don’t understand

Because it took me like 30 minutes to sew this entire shirt

Until I got to the sleeves….

The sleeves which strangely call for Bias Tape.

I shudder at the word.

Just look at that mess!

It’s driving the perfectionist in me absolutely crazy…..and yet, at this point I’m content to just be done with it, pack it up and move on to the next project….

Something without bias-tape.

If it wasn’t for this silly stuff…..

This would have been the fastest shirt I’ve ever sewn

This would have been my favorite summer staple

This would have been worth making all the extra cardstock patterns
(yes, I had big plans for this one)

And….This would have taken me 35 minutes instead of 2 hours.

But you know what, even the 2 hours was worth it when I saw how excited Sissy was to have a matching shirt for her “Strawberry Shortcake Skirt”

She wears them well doesn’t she!

And at the end of the day, I’m just excited that I got the button right. We can only learn so many new skills per project I guess….

And for those of you who are just as upset with this Bias-Tape stuff, won’t you join me for a short little viewing of this video….

“The No Swearing Bias Tape Method”

Isn’t it grand what you can find online!
