All previous Awana Cars manufactured in the McClintick household have been so “Special” that I have never shared their actual glory online, in print, or even via word of mouth….well, except this one for Sparks, but that was just to point out how special it was.
But Anyway….this year….We’re in like Flynn….(do they still say that?)
….and we no longer have to feel the shame of walking in the church with a beat up cardboard box with a few crayon scribbles on it, trying to pass it off for an El Camino.
AND this year I don’t have to pull out my usual routine and try to explain to the other parents what happend to our car….. This year I will not be saying….
“Oh! That’s not you’re car honey! What happened to that amazing 6 cylinder Lexus your Daddy built for you. The grill was custom chrome, we spent a lot of time on that, what happened to it? Remember the windows were overlayed with plastic and tinted only at the top so you could see through them? What? It got stolen? Oh, honey, I’m sure they are just borrowing it, just for a little while…….Here, why don’t you use this car here…(enter cardboard box with crayon scribbles and paperplate wheels)……Oh honey I know it’s nothing compared to the LX Hybrid Coupe but we must be willing to part with our Earthly treasures….it’s a commandment.”
Totally don’t have to say that This Year:
Because…Tonight we sent the boy off in his very own Mater Tow Truck:
Proud Humbly Aware that This is the first year that we didn’t have the worst car out there.
…..NOT that it’s a competition. Or anything.
But………You know…IF it were a competition…… or something…..Or if there were someone that gave out points…..Or even like say….maybe….candy, like Hersey Kisses….Or any other kind of AWARD…….like that…..It would probably go to the most awesomest, coolest, functional best car….that was there that night…..
They DIDN’T have anything like that, but if they did…..you know…..
I’m Just Sayin‘………
