I am spilling dirt everywhere.
Or…more accurately: Future dirt.
Cause it’s not really dirt yet.
It’s grass.
And leaves.
And some of this stuff.
(cause I’m just a beginner)
And water.
Good dirt takes time.
So we’ll wait
Please pray that I don’t end up with the smelly horse sludge!
Do you compost? Got any tips -or- Smelly horse sludge stories?
My 16 year old son handles the composting at our house. Last year we picked up some info on this topic at the library and the county extension office that were helpful. We put in veggie & fruit scraps in addition to grass clippings & leaves. (Citrus peels take a long time to decompose so we leave those out.) Garden scraps such as corn shuckings and pea pods are great as well. The compost has really helped our garden too. I hope your composting experience is successful.
Tried to compost, but it just didn’t work for us!!! LOL!!!
We’ve composted for years. We aren’t very scientific about it at all, but somehow it works. Pinterest has some great pins on composting: http://pinterest.com/pin/87609155221161650/ and http://pinterest.com/pin/87609155220898230/. We use the cold composting method. Very easy and it works ; ). Have fun! We’ve spent the last couple of days playing in the dirt, too!
Yahoo!!! Composting is addicting. Let me know if you have questions! Next will be worm composting for you! You can join me!
I began my first garden this year. I want to compost but haven’t gotten around to it yet. I hope soon.
