I love that you can use this for all ages and all subject :)
I love how logically the book is laid out. I hope I win a copy!
What I like is the Grade Specific Reference Sheets.
My question is are there a lot of notebooking resources as there are lapbooking resources?
Yes, there are. You can search the Internet for notebooking pages on various topics, “dolphin notebooking pages” or “Ben Franklin notebooking pages” for example.
There are both freebies and for purchase printables.
I like that there is a list of things to put in a notebook. Sometimes I feel like I stumble because I am not sure what all belongs: am I doing to much, not enought, etc. Ebook looks GREAT! ~Tina
With 7 kiddos, I’d like to have the grade specific reference sheet.
I don’t know this resource, but I like know it for my class.
Having a variety of ages I really like the sound of the grade specific reference sheet.
I’m new to notebooking, but it sounds very interesting.
I Love that I could use it for all of my babies in 3 different grades! Also love grade level reference sheet.
I am ready to start notebooking for the first time. To have a reference at my fingertips with a grade specific reference sheet is very exciting.
I’ve just recently saw another child doing a notebooking binder at the library. It looked very interesting but very daunting to me. I would love this book for the explanations of the whole thing and having it in printable form.
I would love to learn how to use notebooking for my kids to keep track of what they have learned about a topic.
I would love to know ALL that is in that book!! I have one who writes fast and furious, but with no content… one who dawdles along but loves it… and one who is allergic to paper and work of any kind!! I personally love notebooking, but how to share that love is a mystery to me!!
It sounds like it has it explained very well.
This is actually new to me — I just always assumed notebooking and lapbooking were the same thing. How exactly are they different?
I’ve been interested in Notebooking with my children for a long time but I’m one of those people that needs step by step instruction. I’m excited to see that someone has taken the time to do this for others like me. :)
My biggest question is “How do I notebook with young children that aren’t very fond of writing?”
How does notebooking compare to lapbooking? Is it as time consuming as lapbooking?
Thank you
My interest in this product is that it sounds similar to what I currently do with my lad, but learning more about it sounds like a good plan. :)
question: can one notebook/lapbook in the same oh…how to phrase.. when I normally lapbook I put the materials on Cardstock rather than into a filefolder so that I can more easily add information learned to them.
irritating enter key: so let me finish my thought… can notebooking be done in a similar fashion?
There are a lot of parts that excite me but the what to expect at different ages tops the list.
I love that the ebook will teach me how to organize what we have studied and make sure my children are remembering.
i tweeted as @athomepets….can’t remember how to find the URL of that tweet though sorry… tried…

My question is: Do you combine all the year’s subjects into one or do you separate the binders by subject? I have had a hard time figuring out a good method for keeping our unit studies and activities that go along with it all together. I think Jimmie is wonderful so even if I don’t win I will purchase the ebook.
Thanks, Pam. I so appreciate your trust. The organization question is a good one. I’m taking notes for future blog posts.
I love that there are organizational and usage tips in the book. Those are areas I really struggle with at times…am I doing things right?
I’d like to start notebooking with my high schoolers, as we use lapbooking with my younger kids, but I don’t know how to start or what to expect from them. Is this an add-on for Language Arts, or used with any subject? When should we transition from lapbooks? My 4th grader is starting to burn out on all the cutting & pasting. Ideas anyone?
I am so excited about this e-book! I have read various website blogs and magazine article about notebooking, but this book seems to walk you through the process. I need that instruction, those ideas, and the various work pages to get me going in this direction. Thank you so much for writing this e-book!
We have done just a small amount of notebooking over the past two years, mainly Mystery of History and Apologia Astronomy. For the younger children, the 7-yo narrates back to me, and I wrote it on the 5-yo’s notebooking sheet. Then the 7-yo copied his own words from the 5-yo’s copy. I’d love to learn more tips for combining notebooking for all 5 of my children.
I’ve been using a simplified notebooking approach with The Christian Kids Explore science series this year. I’ve never actually come up with my own pages before. This book could teach even me to do it on my own. I like that she includes sample templates.
I love the idea of the grade-specific reference guide!
My question is: How do you handle a reluctant writer?
Everything organized in one place. I love that!
Will (or is) this available in other languages yet? I have some homeschooler friends that would benefit from it both in french and spanish.
Stephanie, are you skilled enough to translate it? :-)
I would be open to the idea.
I am at the beginning of my notebooking, and I like its goal to help me make notebooking a success. The reviews are by people I respect, which definately made me stop and read the reviews. I am especially excited about the guide it has for what to require/expect at different grade levels.
I’ve just started to explore the idea of notebooking, so it looks like a great resource for me!!
This looks like a great resource for a beginner like me! Quite comprehensive.
This sounds like it would be the perfect asset to a homeschooling family that wants to start notebooking! My question is would notebooking be helpful to a child with reading delay? and also would it be a good resource to help a child that doesn’t like writing?
What excites me about this E-Book is “Getting the most out of Notebooking” section. I am new to Notebooking, actually just starting today! :)
This is great news! I love Jimmie’s resources. I am especially excited about the fact she gives you a list of 50 things you should have covered in your notebook.
I’m sure that will provide a lot of comfort to many of us.
I’d love to win this ebook because I love all things written by Jimmie! Her daughter is the same age as mine, and her ideas are always super helpful!
I’d like the various tips and tricks. I’m slowly working it in more, but still it’s slow going.
my question: how is notebooking different than lapbooking?
What kind of items do you include in notebooking? Do you grade them on grammar & handwriting skills,or do you just let them write & don’t worry about that?
Your first question is answered on the 50 Things to Include in a Notebook page (part of the eBook bundle).
Your 2nd question is the topic of a recent blog post. Visit Should I Correct Errors on the Notebooking Page?.
I love that Notebooking Success shows you how to implement notebooking with your kids.
How is Notebooking Success different from all the other notebooking downloads?
I don’t know of any other notebooking downloads that teach you how to use notebooking. Are there? :-)
I am interested in what to expect for different ages. I am trying to work in more notebooking to our homeschool routine. This looks like a great resource.
I have heard about notebooking but was not sure where to start. This looks like a great way to begin.
i would love to learn how to use this method. Looks like everything I would need to know!

I really like how it is organized and how there are specific sheets for each grade, as being a homeschooler you are most likely to want to use it again and again, as the student progresses, and you may have more than one child. I love things that are geared to multilevels.
I like how it has a ton of info on notebooking in one easy manual.
I like to use lapbooking components in our notebooking pages. Tip!
I love the grade specific sheets. Sometimes I forget what my younger kiddos could/should be doing.
my question is how much notebooking do you do? My kids groan at the idea of writing. I don’t want them to hate it b/c I push it too much, but I want them to learn to write. Where is the balance?
Michelle, the eBook does give recommendations about how much notebooking to do for different grades. A blog post that addresses this is How Much Time Should Notebooking Take?
Looks like a great resource! Do you have notebooking pages that can be edited by the user to adjust to our specific needs? I really would like to have notebooking pages where my daughter can do copywork on (cursive) that she can keep for a lifetime. Since some quotes are short, I would like something that she could write out several quotes on a page, but yet have some pretty designs to make it memorable and for her to want to keep it. Know what I mean!?!
Jean, the eBook does not include editable notebooking pages. There is a small set of printable notebooking pages bundled as a freebie.
I do not have that kind of notebooking page, but I do have some printables specially designed for quotations.
Quite honestly, I’m just excited to learn more. I “think” I know what notebooking is . . . but we are just entering into this territory. So I’m excited or would be excited to just learn more from a pro!!!
I’ve never done notebooking before with my kids. It’s a whole new world! Looks great! I’d love to try it out!
I tweeted! https://twitter.com/#!/GranolaMom4God/status/158927165558243328
My tip . . .though I haven’t officially notebooked with my kids . . . a good notebook (I found some cool ones at Staples that I am using for my Kay Arthur Bible Study) and great writing utensils . . . :)
I like that one technique can be used across all grade levels. In my classroom I have many different levels of students.
I have used lapbooks with my students and curious to find out if notebooking is similar…can I use notebooks with a whole classroom like I use lapbooks?
I placed the giveaway on twitter! :)
this will be great to start my homeschool journey, counting the days for the next school year to use notebooking, and other cool things with my girls. Multi age, great……….
Always looking for new ways to notebook. We use mostly non-workbook curriculum & I need a way to document learning. Most interested in the grade specific sheets.
I like that it can be used for multi levels.
Since I’ve never done notebooking I love that it gives step-by-step instructions!
My question is: Is notebooking suitable for boys who don’t particularly enjoy writing?
Yes, it is. Obviously, we want our kids to write. But there are other ways of demonstrating understanding — illustrations, assembling information/images taken from other sources. Notebooking can be a good middle ground as you allow for creative (non-written) expression while pushing for more and more of it.
I have 4 kids still at home, and this sounds everyone could do it!
I introduced notebooking to some of our young moms at our Sunday School, they were amazed and the kids love their lapbooks. We went thru the alphabet using Biblical applications. It was great. Looking forward to using these same concepts in SS, again! Thank you!
I also placed this link to the giveaway on my facebook page!
Next I will add it to one of my Pinterest boards!
Thanks!!!
Konda, I would love to see your notebooks. If you’re ever interested in being featured in a Spotlight post at The Notebooking Fairy, please email me at pixiedust at notebookingfairy dot com. I have a questionnaire.
For which subject matters do you find notebooking the most beneficial?
It excites me that this can be used for a broad range of age/grade levels which is exactly what I have!
I would love to start notebooking, my kids love to write and I think it will be a great tool for them…as for me.
I have homeschooled for many years, but never tried notebooking. The reason I never tried,I never understood completely the process. Would love this book to bring light on a subject I want to try.
This looks a lot like what I am already doing, but I think the information will help direct me and help me get organized. I think my children will enjoy the process even more if I have my act together!
Wow, I am so intrigued! I hope I win one of the copies otherwise I may have to buy it! How exciting all of the mom’s blogging and doing amazing things to increase their families income!
I hope this is the blog where you can be entered. I am not sure…I would love to win the ebook.

Honestly what’s not to like? I really like everything about it. I would love to have something like this to guide me along. I think we would notebook more often if I did.

Get creative with your notebook pages. You don’t always have to write things in them. Draw pictures and color them. Add little Minit books, clip art. Etc.
What excites me about this e-book is learning about the most effective methods for each age group and how to make sure they are remembering what they are learning. Looks like a great way to get motivated and make our notebooks a little more organized and effective! Thanks.
I have been looking for something like this. I love it so much, that I already bought it. I couldn’t wait!
I would just love to know more about notebooking. There is a ton of info on the web, but a guide would be so handy. It excites me because I think my dd would love it.
Question: Is there a way to notebook without having to do a lot of tedious work ahead of time? How do you plan a notebook?
I am on the hunt for something new for next year. Is notebooking something for grade 1 or is it more for older greades?
Notebooking can be used with any grade, even pre-readers and writers. But I love lapbooking at the very youngest levels. Lapbooking merges nicely into notebooking as children mature.
This ebook appears to contain everything to get me started, as well as, what it takes to stay motivated for the long haul. I am considering homeschooling my youngest this Fall with a reading/notebooking program. This book is the one resource I think I would require, everything else would just be gravy!
I’m excited for all the features, I can’t wait for the giveaway think I will have to buy it and hope I still win <3
I am excited about the step by step guide and that I can read it on my kindle too! I love finding notebook pages but just don’t know how to use them.
I tweeted about this giveaway using your text from @chaostograce
I have read many of Jimmie’s lenses and love her approach to notebooking. This would be a wonderful resource, all her wonderful ideas in one place!
This looks fresh and exciting to wake up the rest of the year for my bored daughter!
Looking forward to trying it out!
Tracy
What excites me about this book is all the printables!!!
Kathey
Hi, I am a third grade teacher in a private school. Lately I have been noticing that students do not carry what they have learned in language arts to other classes. From what I can see on your site, notebooking may be a possibility for my grade. We could keep track of all that we have learned, and I know the parents would really like to see it too. I will be checking back for more information. Thanks for your great ideas
Would love to learn more about this. Happy for a chance to win!
I’m thrilled to see how it is simple to draw or cut/paste a picture that can be narrated about from our lessons on a notebook page created by Jimmie. She is so patient and creative! Fan for Jimmie – Thanks to her I keep trying to avoid worksheets and use notebook pages instead.
Do you ever use the internet linked encyclopedias to copy a picture onto your notebook pages and use this to generate narration about the topic of the day? There are so many sites for free, public domain pictures. Plus, we could teach the kids to properly site pictures too.
I love the way this whole notebooking idea sounds and what it offers- especially the tinted papers, since my kids are visual learners!
Is notebooking suitable for slower learners?
Sure, just modify expectations to match where the child is.
God is soooooo good. Thanks for this.
Laura
I have been thinking of how to incorporate more notebooking into our curriculum at home and this might be just the thing I need to do that. Thanks for a great contest.
Julia
Great giveaway. I have done a minute amount of notebooking and hope that this would increase my potential.
This looks great. I sway back and forth between minute books and notebooking and can’t wait to read this resource. I love homeschooling!
I’m not sure why I’m entering this contest since I never ever win. However, I figured it was appropriate since it is MLK Day, and he had a dream, so therefore, so can I have a dream to win this book. I would love to use this well.
Oh, and I shared this on my Facebook fan page.
I find it hard to pick out one item that I like more than the others. All the information in this notebook is much needed and helpful to do notebooking right.
I don’t have a blog but I do have 2 yahoo groups that I shared the information about Notebooking Success in both of my groups.
I recently have been looking into Notebooking to help me teach my children to narrate and eventually, to write better. I love the description of this book in that I could read it in 30 minutes and be ready to proceed in using Notebooking in my homeschool. Would love to have this resource!!! :-)
I just heard about notebooking today!! I was looking for material on MLK jr. And I found all this interesting info on notebooking. I have 3 children that we homeschool, and 1 that has a difficult time retaining what she learns. Both her and I are frustrated by this, I think this would be a great tool for her. She loves to make things , and can spend hours crafting. I look forward to learning more on this and using tis method. Thank you for your posts and videos:)
I have been interested in learning more about notebooking for a long time. THis could be the tool that I have been searching for to help answer my questions and get us started with notebooking!
We just started notebooking this year! We notebook our history and science. I would love to learn more about notebooking and use it to the maxium potential. I first learned about notebooking at a homeschool conference this past year!
I have not been utilizing notebooking to its fullest potential, this ebook looks like it will help me do just that. Thank you for making this and sharing with the rest of us! Blessings to you and our family.
Blessings to you and your family.
Wow! I need the encouragement and the education that it takes deliberate attention to implement notebooking into becoming a learning tool instead of a time waster! I have been homeschooling over 20 years and fresh ideas are FANTASTIC to this momma! Thank you for your work and your blessing offer of a money back guarantee…I can feel confident that this ebook is worth every penny.
This looks just fantastic! We’ve been doing lapbooks and while the kids seem to like them they can be messy and hard to store when finished. I’ve never tried notebooking and have been wanting to because it looks more organized and a lot more fun. This book would just be the perfect item to get us started. My question would have to be, do you include the same things in a notebook as you do in a lapbook?? I did blog about the giveaway on my Facebook page, which is the website page that I’ve included. Thank you for such a wonderful giveaway!!
Love how she has thought of every aspect of Notebooking! I’ve gotten overwhelmed when considering it.
This sounds like a great resource!
I have done some lapbooking and notebooking but not to its full potential. I think this ebook will encourage, empower, and educate me on better Notebooking. Thank you.
Hi, I shared on my facebook wall. Thanks.
this would be such a great resource to use. I am new to notebooking so this certainly would be a great book to have
My child is only at the preschool level. We have combined notebooking with lapbooking while he is still young. As he gets older we figured it would be an easier transition to notebooking. The book would be a great help.
What do I love about this resource? EVERYTHING!!!!!
Okay, I bought it LOL! The reviews sold me … I’m off to read it and see if I can inject some life into our homeschool … I feel like we’re stuck right now. Thanks for the heads up (and for a chance to win my money back LOL!)
No tips from me … just questions. How is it different from lapbooking? How to organize it? How to get started? Hoping the ebook will answer these and other questions I don’t even know I have LOL!

We are just starting in our notebooking adventure with a 9 yr old and 5 yr old. I’m worried that I won’t do enough or will try to do too much…how will I know? Needing ideas for what to include. I think this book has a lot to offer my family. :)

I really like that primary, manuscript, and wide ruled are offered. As a parent of a 2nd grade reluctant writer (who is also still learning to form letters), I like that I have options for him as well as my 4th grader.
My question is this: What do you do with a child who is really reluctant to write and still writes like a Kindergartner, but is in 2nd grade?
Notebooking is something I’ve always wanted to implement correctly, but I’ve never been quite sure how to do it consistently. I’d love to read this!
I don’t have any tips but I would like to know the ways in which notebooking is different than lapbooking. We’ve done lapbooks before but I’m afraid that notebooking would be too boring for my kids.
I tweeted it! https://twitter.com/#!/LivingHS/status/159368371375321088
I’m excited to learn about different ways to incorporate note booking into our normal homeschooling activities.
I have started doing some notebooking/lapbooking projects with my two homeschool kids and love them! I like the “universal” take to this Notebooking Success e-book – training others to take any subject, run with it, and help that mom evaluate/measure her kids level of understanding! “Give a man a fish and feed him for a day… Teach a man to fish and feed his family for a lifetime!”
Thank you for the opportunity to win this wonderful resource!
We are starting our journey into homeschooling for a second time and I was interested in notebooking. This looks like such a fun way to keep records of all we have accomplished. The book looks so interesting.
I’ve been wanting to try this but I have been unable to understand how to fit it into our school day. I’m thinking this might be the answer.
The one thing that I absolutely LOVE about the Notebooking Success
E-Book is that Jimmie created it!! I have followed her work as a LensMaster on Squidoo ~ Read her blogs ~ Notebooking Fairy and Jimmies Collage faithfully! I am amazed at her innovative mind, creative flair, thoroughness on subject matter and clarity in writing skills. Knowing these things…I am sure Notebooking Success will continue to successfully enlighten students and teachers everywhere to the joy of notebooking! Thank you Jimmie!!
I love her clear explanations and variety of very useful pages!
Hey all :) I have always loved the idea of notebooking, but was too overwhelmed with starting homeschooling in general, and no one I knew used notbooking. I am very interested in learning, but was wondering… How do you start?
I visited the webpage and was impressed by how inclusive it looks! I really liked the format and how affordable it is.
Thanks!
This looks like it will be a wonderful product even for those who are doing notebooking currently. Some fresh new ideas are always helpful. I would like to be entered into the giveaway too please.
We have tried lapbooking in the past, and my kids are not terribly crazy about it.
My big question: How is notebooking different from lapbooking? I am hoping to win an e-book so I can learn the difference.
Thanks for the chance to win one!
I would like to make sure my kids are really learning and if I am using notebooking to its fullest potential. This resource also has a 30-day moneyback guarantee. Thanks for highlighting it. Kelly
Notebooking is something I would really like to start doing, but doing it the right way. Not just busy work, like she mentions! I am just not quite sure how to go about it? So…this sounds great!
We have been doing lapbooks and my son enjoys them. But, I am excited about notebooking. I like the idea of having him write more. I also believe that as he writes about what he is learning, it will help him remember more information. It reminds me of portfolios which involves keeping a student’s best work, then at the end of the year, he can look back over all that he has accomplished. I am excited about starting this endeavor with my son.
I really want to do notebooking but I feel so overwhelmed…my biggest question is how to start??? Thanks!
Notebooking is new and exciting to us but I’m still trying to figure out how to get started. This resource sounds user-friendly and I’m hoping it will help meet our homeschooling needs. Thank you! I don’t have twitter or a blog but I facebooked about this giveaway:)
Would love to win this book. I would like to start notebooking with my little students and this books explains the best ways to do it.
I have had good intentions toward notebooking with my boys, but it’s never really gotten off the ground. I have all sorts of notebooking resources that are just sitting in binders and on my computer waiting to be used.
This book looks great. I need things laid out in steps.
