but I finally have another TOT in the house.
Monkey is 2 1/2 and in full on TOT mode.
Which means he wants to do “school” like his older siblings,
but he has the attention span of a…
Well…….
of a Monkey
But he absolutely MUST be keep busy.
As we all know
That if we don’t keep little Monkey busy,
He’ll keep himself busy…..
and then we’ll all be busy
So here is one way that we keep little Monkey busy:
I made the game using Jolanthe’s beautiful Color Matching Cards
and then laminating pieces of colored paper onto which I wrote the color names.
In hindsight, I should have written the Spanish words on the back as well.
We play by drawing a card and matching it to the correct pile.
Simple. But Busy.
Very, Very Busy.
Oooooh, great idea! My daughter is way ahead of the game on this one, but her older brother (by 18 months) has the attention span of a monkey as well. Will have to give this one a go. :) Thanks for the great tip!
I love the color idea. :) I have a 17 month old that thinks he should do school with his 9 and 13 year old brothers. Baby school is killing me! LOL
I absolutely love your site. Great ideas, thanks so very much! As a homeschool newbie, I need all the help I can get! I did a lot of workbook stuff with my son who is 5 and we are both burned out from it. I have decided not to even try that route with my daughter who is 4. Instead, we are having fun while learning and this is definitely a simple yet fun activity for her to do. Thanks again for all the creative ideas =)
WOW Love it, just started preschool with my oldest, so yeah I’m new to all this home schooling but loving it. Thanks for posting such great things may God continue bless you and your family.
This is a great idea. I’m a teacher assistant at a preschool for special needs kids, and we are allways looking for new and fun things to teach with.
