I’ve been busy! I put all that beautiful blue fabric to good use this week, and turned it into the most adorable Easter dress I’ve ever seen made. Here are some photos.
Front Smock of dress, including the matching purse…..
…..Trrrrust me! Sissy is flippin’ over the purse, she is so proud!
Back view, there is a tie in the back which is AMAZING, b/c Sissy is so stick thin, every dress I make for her, she floats in. I’ve yet to figure out how to customize patterns, so until then I’ll be using this little trick quite often!
Full size view. I know, look at how wrinkled it is….that’s because she just spent hours dancing through the living room showing it off, and I just don’t have the energy tonight to iron it again.
And of course, since I’ve wraped that project up, I’ve started another…..
When I was a little girl, I LOVED……I mean L – O – V – E – D, anything Strawberry Shortcake! (You know, how she looked before her creators decided they needed to straighten her hair, and put her on the Barbie diet.) She was just adorable the way she was in the 80’s….like me:
Okay, that’s not really me. But that kid is pretty cute isn’t she. All my baby photos are stacked away, up high, out of my immediate grasp……..so rather then teeter my pregnant belly atop of a chair trying to reach them, I’m just going to have to wait till Hubby can get to them.
I promise I’ll post a cute baby photo of the real me soon. That is if I can find one in which I’m not wearing corduroys, or those fantastic neon spandex we all loved.
Anyway, Joann’s had an amazing sale on Simplicity patterns a few weeks ago and it was the perfect time to stock up on fabric too!
I was able to pick us this adorable strawberry print for 75 cents a yard (There was a greese stain in the corner so the lady took half off the already discounted price….SCORE!) and Then I found this beautiful red polka dot fabric in the $1.99 a yard bin.
So as you can see I’ll be making a very sweet article of clothing for my little girl…I’m thinking a layered tier skirt with a matching purse……
Have you seen the amazing patterns at YouCanMakeThis.com? I’m thinking I need to grab a bottle of root beer and head over there tonight!
