Aboriginal Cave Drawing

This is a fantastic project to follow up learning about all the amazing and beautiful cave drawings found in Australia. I love crafts that showcase children's original work and this is a great way to add a little flair to your classroom walls!

Aboriginal Face Painting

Who doesn't love to paint their face? Show children the beautiful and intricate body art designs of the Aborigine. Children can learn the meaning behind some of the symbols and then have a blast painting each others faces. A great way to end your unit on Australia!

Make a Didgeridoo

What better way to explore Australian culture then to tap into the music of the Didgeridoo ! Children can view and listen to this musical instrument, then create their own from a paper towel roll. Provide children with paint and show them how to wrap it around the paper towel roll to create striped designs.

Make a Boomerang

My children were thrilled to learn that there was a way to make an actual boomerang that when thrown, would return to it's owner! We had a blast designing these with Aboriginal symbols too!

Coral Reef Oil Pastel

Research and find a picture of Australia's Great Barrier Reef. Create a beautiful representation with vivid colors using oil pastels.

Australia Coloring Pages

We have a great set of Aborigine Coloring Pages. These make fantastic templates for children's art projects. There are ten different templates and it would be a great way to explore different mediums.
