If you haven’t already noticed, I LOVE learning games!

Not only do I love to make them, but to play them as well!

Sometimes finding an educational game that spans the ages is difficult, but every once and a while we find something that is entertaining for the whole family.

Last week I was browsing the clearance aisle and found this little gem for a great baragain.
(I’ve since learned that this is actually a “refill pack” to the entire game, but since we already had our own Unifex cubes, we didn’t need to buy whole game anyway.)

And really, I love Unifix cubes in general, they are hands on, and perfect for color matching, stacking, sorting, patterns, mathmatical equations and tons of other ideas, including Sudoku!

Unifix Sudoku is played exactly like Sudoku puzzles, one of each color per row, one of each color per column, and one of each color per rectangle. And of course it sounds easier then it is! (Enter logic and reasoning skills)

What a great way to sneak in some math with some hands on game time!

This would make a fantastic Summer learning activity especially if you are actually taking a Summer Vacation….. Are you?

Me? I’m feeling the pressure to have Summer School because we took so much time off when Freckles was born!

But Ack! A vacation sounds might fine to me right now :)

  • We also took more time of schooling than normal, not because of a baby though. While I’m with you, ready for a break, I am also a rule keeper and having a hard time looking at our homeschooling day tracker knowing there are still 40 something more days we need to school. However, I am thinking productively and how other things the boys do can be counted as educational.
