Not because I’m being extra shy or anything, I just don’t want to JINX myself.
Because Last time I posted pregnancy photos of myself,
I immediately went into labor.
Yeah, so as I post this photo I’m a little worried that once it goes live, you won’t hear from me for a while.
Or maybe nothing will happen and I’ll stay pregnant all the way till Christmas (when I’m due)
(Wouldn’t that be something?….Do you think we would get on TV if we have the baby on Christmas…..Maybe I should pack my make-up?)
Totally joking
There is no way a camera crew would ever be allowed in my hospital room.
I barely let Hubby in, and he has to bribe me with Smoked Turkey Sandwiches.
Anyway, on to the belly photo:
And in case you’re interested here is this years photo, next to last years photo:
I’m pretty sure that I’m a bit “Bigger” then last time.
I can really see it in the face….and the faces of all the poor unsuspecting people I’ve fallen on at Church.
Totally NOT Joking.
For the past two weeks I have mauled someone while trying to “Shimmy” into my seat at church.
Don’t laugh.
The first time I tried this delicate maneuver, I turned my back to the people as I tried to slide by. Bad Move, because I shimmied all of two steps and then smacked my belly right into the back of some poor ladies head……(I could tell I really got her good when her neck whipped forward like a crash test dummy, and her hair clip fell on the floor).
So Embarrassing…
And the second time, just this morning in fact, I decided we weren’t going to have a repeat of last week. This time I’m going to Shimmy with my belly towards the people, and I’ll use my fancy side step techniques from 8th grade girls basketball. Surely this will work better, I was good at basketball. Again,….Bad Move. Two side steps down the aisle, I lost my balance, and my body folded in half (as it can only do when it is pregnant) and I tumbled face forward into the laps of this poor unsuspecting eldery couple, who definitely didn’t wake up this morning thinking they would be mauled by a 200 pound pregnant lady and her graham cracker filled purse.
I am so ashamed.
These poor people, are just trying to be good Christians on worship Sunday and it’s all I can do not to send them to the hospital.
I feel horrible.
Next week I think I’ll be coming early so I can get a nice aisle seat.
If I’m still pregnant that is…..because who knows now that I’ve posted my photos.

You are beautiful! Thanks for sharing pictures and a great story!
My niece was born on Christmas day. Didn’t make the TV appearance. ;)
Oh my word, Valerie, you totally made me laugh out loud! And I’m trying to do it quietly so I don’t wake my sleeping household up, so I’m holding my sweatshirt over my mouth to muffle the sound. ;-)
I just randomly clicked over from No Ordinary Moments, and I’m so glad I did. Every midnight deserves laughter!
I think you look great, by the way!
Can’t….stop…laughing…I love your sense of humor about the belly bumping. :D Take it all in stride, my dear, and enjoy the last few weeks of pregnacy (or hours if your track record holds out!). You look BEAUTIFUL!!
I think it’s only if you have the first new year baby. So in that case you’ll have to be late..and we all know that won’t happen! ;)
too funny! I have 4 kids and I have “belly busted” more than one person with each pregnancy. Ugh! Why do we always think that we can just “squeeze” by when clearly there is a belly way in the way!? Praying you have a grace filled delivery!
Your stories reminded me of when I was pregnant with twins. I had to trade cars with my father as I couldn’t fit behind the wheel of our stick shift. Everything went well until I got to the toll booth. My father had power EVERYTHING in the car, but I couldn’t find the window button. I sat at the toll booth, pushing every button I could find. My seat was raising, lowering, laying back, radio on, radio off, wipers on, wipers off; I looked like the movie Monsters Inc. with Sully and Mike. Finally, I gave up, opened the door and slid out (haha) to throw the money in the hopper. Only by the time I got back in the car, the gate was down again. The only thing that got me through the gate was the car behind me. When I got out the second time, the lady in the passenger seat yelled, “OMG!! Look at her!!” She finally took pity on me, got out of her car, told me to STAY in my car, and paid my fee. And I’m sure she, too, did not wake up and think, “I’m going to pay a toll fee for a giant pregnant woman today.”
PS: You look beautiful!!
Hi Valerie,
you look great! Praying for you and your family!
Blessings
Ana
Hahaha, this post cracked me up!! You look great by the way!
You are BEAUTIFUL! You look like you are carrying high (having a girl?) and that can make you look bigger.
Sounds like you are ready to go ~ posting the photo and all. ;-) Hoping to hear news of the safe arrival of your little one soon. :-) Prayers and blessings for a wonderful labor and delivery!
LOL! You are gorgeous! Now that Monkey is here; maybe nickname this one “Shimmy?”
May your labor and delivery be quick and easy! I’ll be praying for you and your family this season.
Hugs and Prayers
It’s just the shirt ~ really. You aren’t big at all {grins}.
You look GREAT!!! And I can’t wait to hear about a new little one soon!!!
You look beautiful!! God Bless you and your family and the little miracle soon to arrive!!
Loved your story! We’ve all been there. They should have scooted down the pew and let the poor pregnant lady sit on the end. Didn’t they know you’d need out again to go to the bathroom???
I love your work. By the way, you think you look bigger because the angles of the photographs are different. ALWAYS shoot a woman from the downward position like the 2009 shot. It is more flattering because the shadows fall in all the right places. There’s my hint for next year’s photo! :)
You are beautiful! It’s nice to have a face behind Lapbook Lessons! :) I pray God will give you strength and peace as you prepare for the delivery of this little one.
I stumbled upon this site for the first time, and I agree with Roberta, it is nice to funally see the face of the woman behind Lapbook Lessons. And may say you are one gorgeous woman! May God bless you more, as you surely have been a great blessing to me and my family!
