  • Horned Owl Face Template (below)
  • 2 Paper Plates
  • Markers or Paint
  • Brad
  • Additionally you could use the blank
space to write an acrostic, or another
    poem about owls.
Step 1
Cut one of your paper plates in half.  These
will be the wings.
Step 2
Color or paint the wings brown (or whatever
color you want)  Near the bottom you can
make wingtips if desired.  (If you do this
you'll have scraps to make the feet)
Step 3
Color in your Owl face to represent the
owl you are making.
All Done!
Fan out the wings and write in some special
facts or a poem about owls.  Younger
children can glue cotton to the middle to
make it fluffy.
Step 4
Hold the top of the wings on the center of
the second paper plate.  Punch a hole
through all layers.
Step 5
Insert a brad through the bottom of the beak
of the owl face and through the holes that
you punched in the wings and the body.
Step 6
If you're making owl feet, color them
orange, cut them out like claws and tape
them to the bottom of the owls body.

This is the face template for the Horned Owl
Craft.  Print on Cardstock for best results.
This is great for little hands to practice
cutting out because the lines are very thick
and forgiving.
