What makes this easy and fun is that you can provide younger children with our printable template, making it easier for them to follow along.  Older children can start with a blank paper.

You start out with a little  white crayon in select areas:20140215_124311

And you finish up with an amazing watercolor of the cross on Calvary

I tried by using the white oil pastel but the area doesn’t show up much. It’s covered up by the water color. Any tips?

Hmmm, that is strange. I usually use the Oil Pastel instead of a white crayon because it seems to work better. I do press it down pretty hard to make sure it is nice and thick on the paper, so that it will resist.

You can always use white mask liquid for a more professional result, or maybe research rubber cement used in this way also. Finally, you might try watering down your watercolors a bit or dabbing the white areas just a bit as you paint.

      Hope that helps :)
